The World lost another good man last night, and Heaven gained a hardworking Angel..

He's in a better place.

Erik's last couple years were a living torture for him. He was a hands-on, "stand up" type of guy who had to sit back and watch the World move around him. It ate him up that he didn't have the ability to contribute more than words, thoughts and feelings since his accident. Erik was a DO-er and never wanted to rely on others to take care of him.

In remembering Bones, don't think of the dude in the wheelchair.. Remember him in his finest hours, whether on stage with a mic in his hand and the spotlight on him, or the proud Father, pushing his daughter on a swing.

He already endured the tough times, living, and now he can relax at ease, and be the Angel to guide Marley through life with a much more powerful impact.

My Brother got his wings now. No more chair. No more relying on anyone to do the simple things that we all take for granted. God took him from
his challenged position, and gave him the opportunity to make things better for his Mom, Daughter, and Woman..

The next week or so will be difficult, but things happen the way they are supposed to. This too shall pass..

Erik went out as he lived- a fighter. Not fighting senselessly, but fighting with purpose. He wanted people to just be BETTER. He wanted us to learn the TRUTH, and not settle for face value. He believed in "each one, teach one".

His life was cut WAY short, but he's also left a lot behind to live on for him, most importantly, Marley and his Mom, and also his Music.. Remember the good times, and create your own new ones, with him in mind.

All I ask is, don't get DRUNK and mourn for him. Hug your kids, and love your Mom for him. Be a better person for him. Make the most of your time on the earth for him, and be happy for each living, breathing, MOVING day..

2000 - we started the Skitzofreniks message bulletin board , after a USO tour in Kuwait , I was a integral part of the whole thing since I wrote internet code. My name was boris
2001 - Changed my name to Foul Gatos and almost died in 9-11 terrorist attack. The whole think played out on the site and the first tower was hit in the middle of a heated argument about Joe Budden
2002 - NY Times did a brief write up about Checkmark and the crew. And by brief I mean front page.
2003- A few key members of the "skitz fam" came into prominence. Hemlock Hawings our first blackish member since Ripshop and Dan "40" McFrankel a kind Muladdo as he will later be nicknamed by the Brockton crew (2004)
2004 - Many times has this story been told , so I will only mention that this was the 04 Brockton influx on the site which consisted of Dion, Hangz, and Rim. The only one to survise is Dion which went to a brillant career in fashion
2005- 2006- Around here we call 05' the "Just chron, and Brent skulze" years. A few not very noteworthy elements came on board. And you cant say elements w/o mentioning Meta aka the. Now we know these boys were products of the Sandusky scandal.
2007 - 07 was a dormant year. Shortly after Jez moved to LA my true motivation to post any machoisitc insults was gone. I can now say I was in love with her and lashing out verbally. just kidding ew.
2008 - Newt was born. After a long silence the board was rebirthed as "skitzboard.com" . Newt became the first infant to write code for a website and the first toddler to drink a beer albeit a bud light at a rap show.
2009 - late one night I posted a youtube video from Reh Dogg. Checkmark saw this and we proceeded to make 1500 posts in one night about it. The site was alive again.
2010 - Unfortunately with the advent of twitter and short attention spans in general, it leaves no need for an outlet for long form comedic writings. Will the skitzboard comeback in 2011? it is yet to be seen......
